As demographics change, or you see a business driver to reduce "mail float," spoke facilities can be opened, closed, moved or outsourced without affecting core processing operations.

Spokes are used to perform operations such as data/image capture and power encoding. The TMS Image application software and related server hardware are, however, not hosted at each spoke, but only at the central Hub. And since the central hub infrastructure is shared by the spokes, new operation centers or capture sites will not require the installation of new software or new server hardware.
